Growing the Natural Way in the Natural State
Growing the Natural Way in the Natural State
At Sunny Acres Farms, we grow a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables. We use sustainable farming practices to ensure that our crops are healthy and free from harmful chemicals. Our farm is also home to a variety of animals, including sheep, goats, and chickens, which are raised in spacious open enviroments.
We see how our society has lost its connection to food. In just a few generations we have lost the diversity and creativity that comes with eating with the seasons. We no longer appreciate how food is grown or how it gets to us. We hope to help that, by helping educate people on what grows in season and by sharing our favorite dishes people will be more encouraged to eat a seasonal diet.

Regenerative agriculture is the practice of using cover crops to maintain and restore soil health while employing no till methods of soil preparation and planting. This maintains the microorganism life in the soil that stimulate healthy plant growth and even helps deter pests. Cover cropping also prevents soil erosion and continues to sequester carbon through the winter months when most other things are not growing.
Brian grew up helping alongside his grandparents as they grew much of their family's food, and pickling and canning were a way of life for them. He continued that tradition at every rental he lived in, while he pursued his career in the service industry. From server, to bartender, to general manager, his love and knowledge of food and the service of it grew for the next 20 years, until 2020.
As restaurants shut down across the globe, it was a time for a reset. When his cousin sent over a link about a new farm school opening in the area, the Center for Arkansas Farms and Foods, he immediately applied and was later accepted. For the next 11 months, he learned so much from the instructors and from the hands-on training in the field.
We hit the ground running in 2022, crowd-sourcing a start-up loan, quickly building 40 beds, and heading to the Fayetteville and Goshen Farmers Markets whenever we had anything to sell. We even had a CSA that first year! (We may have been gluttons for punishment!)
We expanded to as much as we could in 2023 on the property we were on, while we continued to hone our processes from our first year. We installed infrastructure that helped our labor *and* our plants, and we started Saturday markets!
In October of 2023, we were approached to take over a sheep production farm, with farmable acres for us to continue to expand. We were able to crowd-source another loan through Kiva.Org to help and went right to work expanding on the new farm. We plan to increase our markets this year, as well as increase our wholesale production and our CSAs.
